Course Overview

The Management Consultants Course has been designed to help you to understand the fundamental principles applied by a consultant and increase your effectiveness in order to improve your performance. During the course, you will be actively participating in many activities. The best consultants are continually learning. They see all experiences as learning experiences. But there’s a catch. Unexamined experiences don’t produce the rich insights that come from reflec¬tion and analysis. If you want to become a better consultant, you need to study your own performance and become more conscious about the choices that you are making and how you are acting on your intentions.

Training Objectives

The goal of the  Management Consultancy Training Program will be to equip the consultants with the practical skills necessary to be truly empowered consultants, accredited through the Institute for Leadership and Management (ILM) and able to deliver high end level consultancy.

Course Outline

The following enabling objectives will be covered:

a. Positioning Consultancy – looking at where this fits in an organisation with in its Values and Leadership.

b. Operating as a Consultant – This is the practical behaviours expected to gleam the results required from the organisation.

c. Consultancy Tools and Interventions – The Practical tools required in order to fulfil the role.

d. Workbased Assignment – Completed on the program using practical examples.

e. Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Accreditation.

Course Delivery

The course will be delivered using the following methods:

a. Facilitator Led Discussions.

b. Participant Focused Activities.

c. Integrated Curriculum.

d. Self Reflection.

e. Action Planning.

Work-based Assignment

At the end of the course learners will be expected to complete a work-based assignment. This will involve conducting an intervention and then preparing a proposal for a consultancy programme and explain how best practice will be created within their respective workplace. This work-based assignment will be used as evidence for the ILM accreditation process which will be fully explained on Day 2 of the course.
